Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about BizLink Uganda.
Getting Started
BizLink is a national ICT talent marketplace connecting qualified ICT professionals with companies and organisations seeking digital skills. It is spearheaded by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The platform is open to two main user types: ICT Professionals (Talents) — individuals with ICT skills seeking work opportunities — and ICT Companies — organisations looking to hire or collaborate with ICT professionals.
Click Register on the homepage, choose your role (Talent or Company), fill in your details, and complete the onboarding steps. You will receive a verification email to activate your account.
Yes. Registration and use of the core platform features are free for both talents and companies.
Installing the App
Yes. BizLink is a web app that can be installed on your phone, tablet, or computer directly from your browser — no app store needed. Once installed, it opens full-screen from its own icon like a regular app, and you can receive push notifications for messages, scout invitations, and matches.
Open BizLink in Chrome and either tap the Install BizLink banner when it appears, or open the browser menu (⋮) and choose Install app (on some devices: Add to Home screen). The BizLink icon is then added to your home screen.
Open BizLink in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow), then choose Add to Home Screen and confirm. iOS does not show an install banner, so this is the only route on Apple devices.
Open BizLink in Chrome or Microsoft Edge and click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a screen with a downward arrow), or use the browser menu and choose Install BizLink. The app then opens in its own window and appears in your applications list.
The app may already be installed — check your home screen or applications list. Otherwise, your browser may not support installation (for example Firefox, or private/incognito windows); try Chrome on Android and desktop, or Safari's Add to Home Screen on iOS. If you dismissed the install banner, it stays hidden for 30 days, but you can always install from the browser menu as described above.
Jobs & Applications
Browse available jobs under Jobs → Published Jobs. Open a job listing and click Apply Now. You can track your applications under Jobs → Published Jobs → Interested Jobs.
Scouting is when a company directly invites a talent to consider a job. The talent can accept or reject the invitation. Matching is when a company reviews applicants and marks a candidate as successful — this is a company-driven action that triggers a notification to the talent.
Log in and go to Jobs → Matched Jobs. Both matched applications and accepted scout invitations appear there.
You can unmatch a job from the Matched Jobs tab as long as the job listing has not yet expired. Once a job expires, unmatching is disabled.
Profile
Verification ensures the integrity of the platform. Talents verify their identity (via National ID/NIN), and companies verify their registration. Only verified profiles appear in search results and are eligible for matching.
After logging in, navigate to Settings → Profile Setting. Add your skills, work experience, education, and certifications. A more complete profile increases your visibility and matching accuracy.
Scouting
You will receive an in-platform notification and a message in your inbox. Go to Jobs → Published Jobs and look for the Scoutings tab (or check your inbox) to accept or reject the invitation.
A company can add you to a job's scout list, but you are always notified immediately. You retain full control to accept or reject the invitation.
Technical & Account
